Platform, Migration & Delivery Engineering

Platform, migration and delivery engineering services

We migrate and support telecom management systems and hybrid infrastructure, automate how workloads are validated and shipped, and build the portals and network API integrations that expose those platforms to your teams and customers.

Engineering pedigree
Our engineers’ earlier roles: Ericsson · Verizon · Zain · Digicel · Haitel · TempestNS
Standards and controls
3GPP · GSMA CAMARA (NEF/SCEF) · OpenShift restricted-v2 · OPA/Kyverno · Private MCP
Entry model
Start with a 2-week Assessment Sprint ($14,500 fixed, 100% credited toward an Annual Platform Retainer)

Reference architecture

Where each layer hands off to the next

Network management, platform delivery and operator applications usually fail at their boundaries: a manager upgrade changes an alarm schema, a cluster change fails admission, a portal action changes a backend system. We design and test the three layers as one system.

Connected estate

Three engineering layers with explicit paths for change, network exposure and operational feedback.

Ericsson OSS & ENM Operations

The challenge

Manual upgrades, siloed scripts and fragile northbound/southbound interfaces put alarm delivery, configuration and performance collection at risk across multi-vendor RAN and core elements.

What we engineer

We stabilize, upgrade and automate OSS-RC and Ericsson ENM across hybrid and cloud-native footprints. We validate element integrations, automate configuration and fault-management checks, and build mediation paths to orchestration platforms.

Sample deliverables

  • ENM upgrade and cutover runbooks
  • Automated health and pre-check frameworks
  • Northbound alarm and telemetry pipelines
  • FM/CM/PM integration test evidence

Commercial and delivery fit

How it ships
2-week Assessment Sprint ($14,500), then the paired principal pod ($20,000/month effective on the annual retainer) or Managed Orchestration
Typical first wave
4–6 weeks: readiness audit, northbound telemetry validation and a rehearsed cutover runbook
Scope an ENM review

Kubernetes & Red Hat OpenShift

The challenge

Telecom and regulated workloads need tenant isolation, predictable networking and tested recovery. Cluster health alone does not establish admission readiness or persistent-data recovery.

What we engineer

We engineer OpenShift and Kubernetes on bare-metal and VMware hosts. Application validation covers non-root execution, OpenShift restricted-v2 SCCs, CNI segmentation and day-2 lifecycle checks. Operators and infrastructure components use vendor-supported permissions with reviewed exceptions.

Sample deliverables

  • Multi-cluster OpenShift reference architecture
  • restricted-v2 Helm/Kustomize validation
  • Kubernetes Operator integration and lifecycle checks
  • Rehearsed upgrade and workload recovery runbooks

Commercial and delivery fit

How it ships
2-week Assessment Sprint ($14,500), then the paired principal pod: 1 infrastructure/telecom lead and 1 DevSecOps lead
Typical first wave
4–8 weeks: restricted-v2 SCC hardening, Multus/SR-IOV validation and day-2 GitOps onboarding
Scope an OpenShift review

VMware & vSAN Modernization

The challenge

Licensing pressure and aging storage require a migration plan grounded in application dependencies, storage I/O and recovery objectives before workloads move.

What we engineer

We audit vSphere/vSAN storage policies, network paths and VM dependencies, then migrate toward consolidated vSAN, OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt). We use live migration where compatibility permits and rehearse cutover windows for other workloads.

Sample deliverables

  • VM dependency and blast-radius map
  • vSAN storage I/O and capacity plan
  • Phased VMware-to-OpenShift migration waves
  • Validated cutover and rollback procedures

Commercial and delivery fit

How it ships
2-week Assessment Sprint ($14,500), then wave-by-wave migration through the paired principal pod
Typical first wave
A 2-week VM blast-radius and storage I/O audit, then phased MTV-to-KubeVirt warm migrations, each with a short final cutover window
Scope a VMware migration

Delivery controls and private MCP

Replace manual change-board bottlenecks with GitLab CI and Argo CD reconciliation, OPA/Kyverno admission gates and schema-restricted MCP pre-flight checks. A person still approves every production change.

T2Delivery controls and private MCP

AI prepares a reviewable change. Deterministic CI checks, protected approvals and runtime admission govern production delivery.

Merge request & bounded MCP tools

  1. GitLab merge requestEngineer commits · Helm / Kustomize / application code
    Webhook / requested review
  2. Pre-flight copilotDraft manifests · readiness report · change diff
    Validated tool calls
  3. Schema-restricted MCP serverTyped tools · server-enforced read-scoped identities

Approved execution boundary

  1. Private model endpointSelf-hosted OpenShift AI / vLLM inside perimeter
  2. Read-only cluster inspectionQuotas · SCCs · current topology; no production mutations
  3. HashiCorp Vault / External SecretsExternal Secrets Operator · controlled runtime access

Deterministic delivery gates

  1. GitLab CI security stageTrivy / Grype · Syft SBOM · Cosign signing
    Build & scan artifacts
  2. Policy validationOPA / Kyverno · SCC compatibility · quotas
    Pass configured checks
  3. Protected human approvalRequired reviewers · branch protections · approved merge

GitOps runtime & evidence

  1. Argo CDApplicationSets · approved desired state
    Reconcile after approval
  2. OpenShift productionAdmission controls · workload RBAC · configured mTLS
    Runtime events & evidence
  3. SIEM & evidence storeRedacted events · attestations · retention policy
Connections across boundaries
Pre-flight copilot / GitLab merge request
Copilot attaches the manifest diff and readiness report for human review.
Pre-flight copilot / Private model endpoint
Model traffic uses an approved private endpoint and processing region.
Schema-restricted MCP server / Read-only cluster inspection
Read-only tool identity can inspect state; it cannot deploy to production.
GitLab merge request / GitLab CI security stage
The merge request starts CI; AI output does not bypass the gates.
Protected human approval / Argo CD
Only the approved merge changes the GitOps desired state.
HashiCorp Vault / External Secrets / OpenShift production
ESO retrieves authorized runtime secrets.
Schema-restricted MCP server / SIEM & evidence store
Redacted tool events are collected under the approved audit policy.
Argo CD / SIEM & evidence store
Sync receipts join build attestations in the evidence store.

MCP servers enforce strict JSON Schema validation and read-only cluster/OSS credentials. Every state change must pass GitLab CI security stages, OPA/Kyverno admission policy and human CODEOWNERS sign-off before Argo CD sync.

AI Agents & MCP Integration

The challenge

Generic assistants lack cluster and pipeline context. Uncontrolled tool access or unapproved endpoints can expose operational data and permit actions beyond the intended workflow.

What we engineer

We connect private AI workflows to repositories, issue trackers and clusters through schema-restricted Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Model endpoints stay within your approved data boundary; deterministic policy checks validate generated manifests and OpenShift restricted-v2 readiness before human-approved execution.

Sample deliverables

  • Schema-restricted MCP servers
  • Pre-deployment readiness and blast-radius reports
  • GitLab / Argo CD copilot integrations
  • SIEM tool-call audit trail and retention policy

Commercial and delivery fit

How it ships
2-week Assessment Sprint ($14,500), then an MCP automation workstream in the paired principal pod
Typical first wave
Schema-restricted MCP servers on read-scoped identities and pre-flight readiness checks wired into Argo CD with human approval; duration set in the sprint
Scope an MCP review

DevSecOps & CI/CD Delivery

The challenge

Manual security reviews, manifest checks and compliance records delay releases. Syntax checks alone cannot establish admission readiness or authorize production promotion.

What we engineer

We build GitLab CI and Argo CD GitOps pipelines with OPA Gatekeeper or Kyverno policies, container CVE gates, SBOM generation, cryptographic image signing and admission verification. Vault or External Secrets Operator manages secret injection; promotion gates bind approvals to the deployed revision.

Sample deliverables

  • GitLab CI / Argo CD promotion templates
  • OPA Gatekeeper / Kyverno admission rules
  • Vault / External Secrets Operator integration
  • SBOM, signed-image and audit-evidence exports

Commercial and delivery fit

How it ships
2-week Assessment Sprint ($14,500), then a pipeline-governance workstream in the paired principal pod
Typical first wave
SBOM and CVE gates (Syft, Trivy), Cosign image signing and OPA/Kyverno admission policies in your existing pipelines; duration set in the sprint
Scope a pipeline review

Enterprise portals, APIs and control planes

Internal developer portals, OSS operational dashboards, CAMARA-aligned network API gateways on operator-authorized NEF/SCEF exposure, and customer self-service interfaces that turn complex backend estates into fast, auditable workflows, in Next.js and TypeScript.

T3Enterprise portals, APIs and control planes

Keep customer API exposure distinct from operational change requests and telecom element management.

    Authorized network access
  2. 4G / 5G core capabilitiesPolicy-authorized network functions
    Separate management interfaces
  3. Ericsson ENM managementSeparate CM / FM / PM integration; not a NEF / SCEF endpoint
Connections across boundaries
Next.js / TypeScript portals / Enterprise API gateway
Portal API traffic enters the authenticated gateway; operational changes use reviewed GitOps requests.
Consent & policy adapters / 3GPP NEF / SCEF
Adapters map only to APIs and versions enabled by the operator.
Enterprise identity & RBAC / Enterprise API gateway
Gateway authorization verifies the caller and tenant policy.

Portal and API gateway requests enforce OIDC/OAuth 2.0 tenant scopes and rate limits at the edge. Southbound 3GPP NEF/SCEF exposure is isolated from ENM element management over dedicated VRFs.

Enterprise Portals, APIs & Control Planes

The challenge

CLI scripts, ticket queues and disconnected interfaces limit the use of network capabilities. Operators and customers need authorized, observable workflows connected to the backend systems they control.

What we engineer

We build Next.js/TypeScript operator consoles, self-service developer portals and customer API marketplaces above your infrastructure and GitOps pipelines. Integrations expose CAMARA-aligned capabilities through authorized NEF/SCEF adapters, with OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC, telemetry and EN/ES/FR/HT workflows.

Sample deliverables

  • Production Next.js / TypeScript portal
  • OpenAPI / CAMARA-aligned gateway integration
  • OAuth2/OIDC and tenant-aware RBAC
  • Accessible EN / ES / FR / HT delivery pipelines

Commercial and delivery fit

How it ships
2-week Assessment Sprint ($14,500), then a portal or API workstream in the paired principal pod
Typical first wave
One production slice of an operator portal or network API integration: OIDC sign-in, role-based access and one CAMARA API through your gateway; duration set in the sprint
Scope a portal or API build

Engineering snapshots

Work our engineers have delivered

Three anonymized engagements from our engineers’ earlier roles, described by stack, problem and what changed. No customer is named, and none can be identified by elimination.

  • Carrier OSS and container platform

Telecom workloads and ENM integrations moved onto OpenShift

Legacy management workloads and their northbound integrations were re-platformed onto Red Hat OpenShift in rehearsed waves. Alarm, configuration and performance flows were traced to their consumers before each cutover, with automated pre-flight validation and a rollback trigger per wave.

    • Ericsson ENM
    • Red Hat OpenShift
    • Rehearsed cutover
  • DevSecOps and audit automation

Policy-as-code gates in place of manual pre-audit reviews

Manual pre-release checklists were replaced by policy checks and AI-assisted manifest verification inside GitOps pipelines. Each change carried its own scan, policy and approval evidence, so review time went to exceptions instead of paperwork.

    • Argo CD
    • MCP agents
    • Policy as code
  • Hybrid datacenter consolidation

Fragmented vSAN and cloud estates under one declarative blueprint

Separate VMware vSAN clusters and cloud core services were brought under a single declarative operating model, with restoration rehearsed per workload group before the old estates were retired.

Stage by stage

How an engagement runs

Each stage ends with reviewed work in your repositories and a decision that is yours to make.

  1. Discovery and dependency audit (weeks 1–2)

We connect through your bastion or ZTNA gateway to inspect live cluster configuration, vCenter and vSAN storage policies, CI/CD pipelines and change logs, and we record the failure modes and single points of failure we find.

    Gate 01

  2. Target architecture and cutover plan

You receive a target-state specification with Mermaid (.mmd) source, a sequenced migration order, rollback triggers for each wave and a cost comparison against keeping the current estate.

    Gate 02

  3. Build and pipeline wiring

Terraform modules, OpenShift manifests, MCP servers and Next.js applications land in your GitLab or GitHub repositories behind policy gates your team can read and maintain.

    Gate 03

  4. Operate and assure: transfer or managed

Choose the operating model. Under build-operate-transfer we run the estate alongside your team until they own it, then hand over the runbooks. Under managed operations we stay on for lifecycle upgrades, drift remediation in the pipelines and 24/7 emergency on-call, with a contractual availability SLA at a 99.9% or 99.99% tier.

    Gate 04

Every gate closes the same way: reviewed work in your repositories, and a decision that is yours to make: continue, pause or stop.

How we start

You do not need a six-month RFP to find out what is breaking.

Every T1, T2 and T3 engagement begins with a bounded 2-week Assessment Sprint ($14,500 fixed fee), 100% credited toward an annual retainer or managed agreement when you continue within 30 days.

  1. Days 1–3

    Boundary and topology read

Read-only inspection of ENM/OSS mediation, OpenShift SCCs, vSAN storage baselines and CI/CD change logs.

  2. Days 4–6

    Failure and blast-radius map

Cross-layer handoff risks, single points of failure, and security and compliance gaps.

  3. Days 7–9

Target architecture (.mmd) and wave order

Low-level target topology in Mermaid source, a wave-by-wave migration sequence and rollback criteria for each wave.

  4. Day 10

    Executive and principal readout

The full engineering handoff package and a fixed-scope backlog, ready for your own team or our paired principal pod.

  1. Assessment Sprint$14,500 fixed · 2 weeks · 100% credited on annual conversion

  2. Platform Retainer$24,000/month or $240,000/year · paired principal pod · 2 months free on annual

  3. Managed OrchestrationFrom $34,500/month · 24/7 emergency on-call with named principal engineers
